Luckily, Bethesda has learned that dogs are everything and this was utter bullshit. Dearly missed, because who would ever want to go through the adventure without an awesome canine pal? Some of us poor souls even went the entirety of Fallout 3 without ever finding him. Dogmeat has been a staple of the franchise and can be missed. As is customary with wasteland tales of a lone wanderer traversing a harsh, post-apocalyptic world, you get a dog in Fallout games.
